
SBMS recognizes that there are a number of distinct industry segments. Each industry segment has certain needs from their manufacturing services vendors. As more and more industries contact greater and greater content of their products up to and including complete manufacturing or "complete fulfillment". There are some segments whose requirements are virtually the same as others while some segments require very specific manufacturing process controls, quality systems and other distinct manufacturing needs.
SBMS works diligently to match clients with the industry segments that they are best suited to support. We try not to market our clients services to companies that have special requirements needing to be in place at the client level prior to their being considered as a vendor. An example would be bidding for production work from the aerospace industry without a certified quality program such as AS9100 in place or NADCAP approval.
Listed below are just a few of the industry segments that we specifically target. We have a considerable amount of expertise in each of these market segments.
SBMS staff has been involved in the manufacturing of medical products such as blood testing equipment, kidney dialysis machines, artificial heart controls, X-ray equipment as well as disposable medical devices. Our staff has been also involved in instrumentation in the form of electron microscopes, imaging equipment, thermography and other laboratory equipment. Our past clients include Baxter Medical, Abbott Laboratories, Beckman Instruments, Hewlett Packard and many others.
SBMS staff has serviced all aspects of the defense and aerospace industry through direct military and defense prime contractors and sub contractors. Over 38 years in doing business in this industry segment. We have worked directly with the Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard as well as contractors including Raytheon, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and many others.
SBMS staff has worked with all aspects of commercial and military aircraft builders such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing Co, Bombardier, Cessna and their prime contractors including BE Aerospace, Goodyear and others.
This is a big and complex area as there are many niche markets within the commercial electronics industry. SBMS has worked in this area with many of the top manufacturing companies including Cisco Systems, Apple Computer, IBM, and General Electric as well hundreds of small to medium manufacturers of electronic equipment for commercial applications.
There are still a substantial number of companies that make consumer products in the United States. Some import sub-assemblies and assemble test and install proprietary items here. Others have limited special applications and volumes that do not call for offshore manufacturing. SBMS has worked with dozens of companies in manufacturing within the US.
There are slot machines, lottery machines and many accessories to the gaming industry that are still substantially built within the United States. SBMS has worked with companies such as IGT, Balley and Premier Gaming. This is a niche industry that utilizes a myriad of contracted services.
There are many products built in the US for the construction market. From air conditioning systems, to brackets and braces for building construction. SBMS has worked with companies such as Carrier, Simpson Strong-Tie, Fencemender, and many small to medium sized companies providing specialty construction items.
These industry segments represent the major levels of manufacturing. However there are also many specialty niche markets and industry segments such as food equipment, architectural products, furniture, specialty appliances and musical instruments to name just a few.
